Did you know that our Bucks County LIFE program and Montgomery County Mobile Crisis team have partnered with fire departments throughout our communities? Under the program names of Prevention and Intervention Program (PIP) and Fire Professionals Aiding Children (Fire PAC), these fire departments protect Montgomery and Bucks Counties from further damage involving intentional and accidental fires.
Our Mobile Crisis team works alongside PIP to provide risk assessment of Montgomery County youth involved with fire setting. Mostly unknown to Montgomery County, PIP supports youth who are on the continuum of fire setting behaviors. With Mobile Crisis as a member of their multidisciplinary team, they work with fire departments, juvenile-related agencies, and case workers located throughout the county to review each case, provide risk assessment and referral to support for the youth.
The Fire PAC program “combines the expert knowledge of professionals from the Bucks County Fire Marshal Department with psychologists, social workers, and behavioral health specialists skilled in assessing and treating children with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.”* Among their team of social workers, our Bucks County LIFE program assists with voluntary family involvement and referrals to Fire PAC through their multidisciplinary team. Working with any youth between the ages of three through sixteen years old, the Bucks County Fire Marshal Department operates in cooperation with our Bucks LIFE team to maintain a safe and secure environment for county families and residents.
